I. THE PROJECT

The Association 3P aims to help a photographer carry out an important project by supporting him financially for a period of six months to one year.

a) This help depends on photographers' contributions. The photographers interested in this initiative will agree to give one or more photo prints for an auction whose proceeds will finance the organization and the production of a selected project.

b) This annual help is intended for a photographer, whose work and professional concern are well known, and whose photographic project answers the following needs:

This project is close to reportage, it pertains to man in relation to his fellows, society, the environment... it contributes to our understanding of man in the 21rst century.

The Association will be certain that the selected project will be of quality, because of the photographer’s experience and ambition.

Applicants will present their proposal including a selection of their photo work. The art director will pre-select the proposal, then submit it to the jury. The jury, consisting of photographers, will also interview the applicant.

The novelty of this proposal is that it concerns only photographers. We request their collaboration and concern in order to help one of them.

II. ORGANIZATION

- To support the Association’s ambition, photographers are invited to give one or several prints for a scheduled auction 3P will put up. The photographic project, selected by the jury, will be financed by the proceeds of this sale.

- Participating photographers will indicate their minimum bid.

- Professional photographers who have a photo project, as defined p.1, are invited to drop their proposal off at the Association 3P.

- The art director, appointed by the Association 3P, and whose expertise in the photography field is well known, pre-selects the projects and then submits them to the jury for the final selection.

- The jury, consisting of photographers only, is in charge of the final selection of the photographer and his subject. The jury deliberates and announces the name of the winner. Their decision is final. During the deliberations any member of the jury may have access to all the applications received.

- The art director may play a role in orienting the reportage according to the evolution of the political, economical, social, or cultural context when the subject is being produced.

III. CALENDAR

- Photos for the auction are to be sent to the Association mandatory before end of October, 2004.

- The photos will be exhibited in Paris and viewed on the Association website www.3ppp.org during the auction scheduled November 25th - December 5th, 2004.

- The projects of reportage to be submitted to the jury are to be sent to the Association until end of October 2004.

- The amount of the grant awarded will depend on the proceeds of the auction.

IV. RULES AND APPLICATIONS

- The Association 3P is open to all professional photographers without age or nationality discrimination.

A). PHOTO DONATION FOR THE AUCTION :

3P requests the participation of all photographers asking them to donate one or several prints for an auction, whose proceeds will finance the photographic projects selected by the jury.

- Each photographer who donates a print must indicate the minimum bid.

- To put the donated pictures on line, thank you to join a low jpg res file (this can be sent by mail), the print attributes (quality of the paper, size, signature...), the caption and a small biography.
